In 1957, in Marano sul Panaro, a group of businessmen founded Ceramica Fondovalle. Positioned outside the Sassuolo district, Fondovalle has always strived to be a style leader rather than a follower. Situated just below the point of convergence of the rivers Leo (from Sestola) and Scoltenna (from Riolunato), the Fondovalle plant has been located on the western bank for almost fifty years. A complete restructure in 1996 involved the modernization of the entire production plant to accommodate glazed porcelain production. In 2003, the company enhanced the production line with the addition of the Twin Press. This innovative ceramics technology produces whole-body slabs formed by double pressing. Thanks to this system, the company can produce top-of-the-line products, whose high-tech features are as attractive as their appearance. In the same year, Bi+fusion was created. A registered trademark of Fondovalle, Bi+fusion is a complex, multiple-loading process that involves the application of colored mixtures, dry decorations, and damp finishing. Today, Fondovalle has three established business units: a production unit in Marano sul Panaro, the main and sales offices in Torre Maina, Maranello, and a logistics base in Ubersetto, Formigine.
